ADC

About the African Democratic Congress (ADC)

Background: The ADC was formed in 2005 and was formerly known as the Alliance for Democratic Change. Its first National Chairman was Ralph Nwosu. For years it was a relatively minor party. It fielded candidates in 2019 and 2023, including Dumebi Kachikwu in 2023.
Mandate and aims: According to its constitution, the ADC aims to be a “grassroots party” made up mainly of working-class and disadvantaged Nigerians. Membership is open to every Nigerian regardless of religion, ethnic group, place of birth, sex, or social or economic status. In practice, since 2025 its mandate has been to serve as the platform for the opposition to challenge the ruling APC in the 2027 elections.
The 2025 coalition: A coalition of opposition forces formally adopted the ADC as its platform to challenge the APC in the 2027 general election. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar left the PDP to join it. David Mark, a former Senate President, and Rauf Aregbesola, a former Osun State Governor, were appointed interim National Chairman and National Secretary. INEC later recognised the new National Working Committee, although some stakeholders called the arrangement a “hijack”. Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, formally registered with the ADC on 7 March 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Any supporter who lives in one of the seven North West states (Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Jigawa or Zamfara) and has a National Identification Number (NIN) or a Voter's ID number.

Yes. Choose "A support group" on the registration page. List the people in your group: at least one of them must give a NIN or a Voter's ID number. Everyone gets their own QR pass, and the group leader gets one page with all the passes to share or print.

Yes. Registering for the rally costs nothing.

Your NIN or Voter's ID number makes sure every person registers only once, so each supporter gets exactly one shirt and one cap. We never store it in readable form: only a protected fingerprint (hash) and the last 4 characters are kept.

Open "Check My Pass", enter the phone number and the NIN or Voter's ID you registered with, and your pass will be shown again. A group leader enters their phone number and any ID number from the group to open the group page.

No. Each registered person is verified at the collection point and can collect one shirt and one cap only.

The system detects it immediately. The first verified collection stands; any repeat scan is flagged and reviewed by the organisers.

Collection points are listed on your pass page after you register.
